The world seen by semiconductors

Particularly complex and strategic is the global semiconductor issue. Samuel Goodman writes about it for East Asia Forum.

The author tells us about a globalised interdependence for the production of such goods that are so necessary in the era of  technological revolution. The recent pandemic crisis and now the war in Ukraine have acted heavily on the difficulties, already present, in supply chains.

While some countries insist on strategic autonomy in this field (starting with the US and China), semiconductors are also an interesting observatory for looking at the recomposition of power relations at the international level.

Also, returning to the subject of supply chains, a reflection must be made on the future of globalisation: is the current model a guarantee of political sustainability?
