China to reduce 5% emissions of heavy metal pollutants by 2025 (Global Times)

China is aiming to reduce 5 percent emissions of heavy metal pollutants in key industries by 2025 from 2020 levels, according to a draft plan released by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on Wednesday.

The draft noted that by 2035, China is set to improve the long-term mechanisms for heavy metal pollution prevention and control, and enhance its heavy metal regulatory capacity, pollution management capacity as well as risk prevention and control capacity.
