Yemen’s Houthis claim responsibility for the first attack on Israel

The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility for their first attack on Israel since the start of the war in the Middle East a month ago. In a statement posted on X, the group – which controls much of northern Yemen and has targeted Israel with drones and missiles for much of the Gaza war – said it had fired missiles at Israeli military sites. A few hours earlier, the Israeli army had stated that it had identified an attack originating from Yemen and was working to intercept it.
