The slow erosion of Japan’s arms export restraints

(Corey Wallace – East Asia Forum) Successive Japanese governments have gradually eased defence equipment export restrictions to respond to China’s military rise, capture economic gains, strengthen industrial capabilities and embed Japan within international defence networks.
