Le ombre si affollano perché l’assenza di visione sembra vincere, insieme a compromessi che negano la mediazione. Tutti sembriamo condividere, ed è la caratteristica del tempo che viviamo, l’urgenza di difenderci.
I confliitti e le guerre si moltiplicano e, anche laddove si parla di pace, s’intende comunque una pace superficiale. I futuri immobiliaristi di Gaza non sembrano avere interesse al destino dei popoli. Per non parlare di quelli che popoleranno Kiev e dintorni.
In ogni caso dobbiamo difenderci, dalla violenza degli autocrati, da terroristi più o meno eterodiretti, anzitutto dalla nostra incapacità di percorrere l’oltre. L’Europa può considerare le spese per la difesa fuori dal patto di stabilità ma c’è molto altro. Ci sono mondi, al di là di quello occidentale sempre più diviso, che, nel trionfo del GZero, cercano la realizzazione del proprio interesse in ogni campo: solo a esempio, la ricerca e lo sviluppo di tecnologie emergenti e trasformanti è un campo di battaglia aperta.
Tutti, proprio tutti, sentono il bisogno di collocarsi al centro di uno scenario globale inteso come sommatoria e non fondato sul dialogo. Sommatoria, per sua natura, del tutto lineare. Qui non cerchiamo un capo del mondo: cerchiamo, invece, di condividere un destino planetario, portando avanti le ragioni del pensiero complesso. Siamo controcorrente, non c’è dubbio, critici ma mai antagonisti. La Storia non aspetta e s’insinua, chiamandoci a una responsabilità visionaria, e realistica, non più eludibile.

Shadows crowd together because the absence of vision seems to win, together with compromises that deny mediation. We all seem to share, and it is the characteristic of the times we live in, the urgency to defend ourselves.
Conflicts and wars are multiplying and even when there we talk of peace, it is a superficial peace that is being referred to. The future property developers of Gaza don’t seem to be interested in the fate of the people. Not to mention those who will populate Kiev and the surrounding areas.
In any case we must defend ourselves, from the violence of autocrats, from more or less externally directed terrorists, above all from our inability to look beyond. Europe can consider defence spending outside the stability pact but there is much more. There are worlds, beyond the increasingly divided Western world, that, in the triumph of GZero, seek to realise their own interests in every field: just as an example, the research and development of emerging and transforming technologies is an open battlefield.
Everyone, absolutely everyone, feels the need to place themselves at the centre of a global scenario intended as a summation and not based on dialogue. By its very nature, summation is completely linear. Here we are not looking for a ruler of the world: instead, we are trying to share a planetary destiny, promoting the reasons for complex thought. We are going against the tide, there’s no doubt about it, critical but never antagonistic. History does not wait and creeps up on us, calling us to a visionary and realistic responsibility that can no longer be avoided.
