Remote working: how can we enable employees to ‘disconnect’? (WEF)

  • Remote working caused by COVID-19 has resulted in longer working hours for millions of people.
  • In a British poll released by trade union Prospect, 35% of remote workers who used to be in an office said their mental health had degraded.
  • Calls are being made for more government regulations which allow people to disconnect.
  • Some companies have already put measures in place, such as an ’email ban’ outside standard working hours.
