Georgia’s Former President Saakashvili Says He’s Back From Exile, But Whereabouts Unknown (RFE RL)

The whereabouts of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili remained unknown on the afternoon of October 1, hours after he claimed he had returned from exile, defying threats from police officials who had warned he could face arrest.

In a video posted on Facebook in the morning, Saakashvili said he had returned to Georgia on the eve of local elections and was in the Black Sea city of Batumi.
