(China) China’s electricity use hits fresh record, prompting efforts to avert shortages

Global Times writes: China has experienced its first electricity consumption peak of the summer, with national daily use at a record due to the rapid pace of manufacturing activities and a heat wave across the country. The load of at least 11 provincial-level power grids reached new highs over the past week.
