To mark the one-year anniversary of the Hong Kong national security law, the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) Global Times ran a series of articles in June to hit back at ‘Western anti-China forces’ and their criticism of the law. They argued that Hong Kong’s status as a global financial hub has been ‘elevated’ now that the national security law is in place, contrary to views about its adverse impacts.
