Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey demand immediate halt to Houthi attacks

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey on Sunday strongly condemned attacks by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia on the Kingdom, including strikes on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, and demanded an immediate and unconditional halt to the attacks.

In a joint statement issued by the Saudi foreign ministry, the four countries, collectively known as the R4 Group, said the attacks had caused civilian deaths and injuries and damaged civilian infrastructure, describing them as a blatant violation of international law.

The group said the attacks violated Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, threatened its security and stability, and endangered civilian lives.
