Ukraine’s capital Kyiv suffered “large-scale power outages” on Saturday because of Russian strikes, the country’s largest private energy provider said.
“New large-scale power outages in the capital due to attacks. Stabilization schedules are currently not in effect,” DTEK, a private energy firm, said in a statement on Telegram.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the strikes were Moscow’s “thanks” for a diesel deal agreed with the United States, deepening his criticism of the agreement.
“Today, Russia expressed its thanks for the lifting of sanctions on diesel exports by dropping five glide bombs on residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia,” Zelenskyy said in a post on X.
