Asian stock markets remain in turmoil as fears grow over the effects of the war in the Middle East. For the third consecutive day, stock indices have suffered sharp declines, with the MSCI Asia Pacific index losing 4.5%. Seoul has plummeted (-12%). Tokyo has also fallen (-3.6%). On the currency front, the yen weakened against the dollar to 157.30 and remained stable against the euro at 182.70. Hong Kong (-2.6%), Shanghai (-1.08%), Shenzhen (-0.65%) and Mumbai (-1.8%) were also heavily affected. Meanwhile, European stock markets are preparing for an uncertain start.
