CAIR urges US gov’t to probe group accused of ‘spying’ on Muslims (Ali Harb, Al Jazeera)

A prominent Muslim civil rights organisation in the United States has called on the US government to investigate a group it has accused of spying on members of the Muslim community.

Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), on Wednesday urged the FBI and other agencies to probe the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), a group the Southern Poverty Law Center says was founded by an “anti-Muslim activist”.
