Belarusian Bloggers Losik, Tsikhanouski Await Verdict (RFE RL)

A Belarusian court is set to deliver verdicts and sentencing in one of the country’s most closely followed trials against a group of bloggers, opposition activists, and the husband of exiled opposition leader Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya.

Rights groups consider all six of those being tried behind closed doors in the southeastern city of Homel to be political prisoners rounded up ahead a disputed presidential election in August 2020. At 173 days, the trial is one of the longest in Belarus’s history.
