Il Papa non è un leader come Trump. Dunque, la sfida è irricevibile per la Santa Sede: è un confronto impossibile.
Gesù, uomo-Dio di cui ricordiamo nascita, morte e risurrezione, si fa tutt’uno con le vittime di ogni guerra e di ogni oltraggio. Se Dio vive in noi, nessuno di noi è Lui, può tendere a esserlo, pur (magari) sognando di diventarlo.
Ci sono due elementi che rendono unico e irripetibile il Gesù/uomo-Dio. Il primo è che lo ri-troviamo sempre dove la storia deraglia, nella condizione di ogni essere creato sopraffatto. E’ un Gesù che pratica la pietà, che piange in ogni dolore e, altrettanto, sorride in ogni esperienza di soddisfazione. E’ alimento spirituale per i credenti, per gli altri è vento buono, trasformazione nel bene. Il secondo elemento è che Gesù ci parla dei nostri limiti: ci dice che non siamo infiniti ma che dobbiamo fare i conti con la nostra finitezza.
Condividiamo le parole del Papa quando invita, con grande chiarezza e semplicità, a non strumentalizzare il nome di Dio per fare la guerra. Come si può pensare, infatti, che il nostro Creatore sia anche il grande Distruttore, che voglia trasformare il mondo in un cumulo di macerie, visibili e invisibili ? Il Papa sa, più di altri, che la spiritualità (quella vera) non prevede violenza, a partire dal linguaggio: il Papa è Maestro di Parola, quella che nasce dal/nel silenzio, non dal/nel rumore delle nostre minacce scomposte o delle bombe.
Il Gesù MAGA, evocato da alcuni, è idea viziosa, giustificazione al non-senso: è, molto semplicemente, conversione al contrario, de-generazione.

The Pope is not a leader like Trump. Therefore, the challenge is unacceptable for the Holy See: it is an impossible comparison.
Jesus, the God-man whose birth, death, and resurrection we remember, identifies completely with the victims of every war and every outrage. If God lives within us, none of us is Him – but we can strive to be like Him, even if we may dream of becoming so.
There are two elements that make Jesus, the God-man, unique and unrepeatable. The first is that we always find Him where history goes off the rails, in the condition of every created being who is overwhelmed. He is a Jesus who practices compassion, who weeps with every sorrow and, equally, smiles in every experience of joy. He is spiritual nourishment for believers, and for others He is a benevolent wind, a force of transformation toward good. The second element is that Jesus reminds us of our limitations: He tells us that we are not infinite, and that we must come to terms with our finitude.
We share the Pope’s words when he invites everyone – with great clarity and simplicity – not to exploit the name of God to wage war. How can one even think that our Creator is also the great Destroyer, wanting to turn the world into a heap of visible and invisible ruins? The Pope knows better than anyone that true spirituality excludes violence, beginning with language: the Pope is a Master of the Word, the one that is born from/in silence, not from/in the noise of our disordered threats or of bombs.
The ‘MAGA Jesus‘, invoked by some, is a corrupt idea, a justification for nonsense: quite simply, it is conversion in reverse, de-generation.
