Pakistan launches airstrikes against Afghan-based ‘militants’ it blames for cross-border attacks

(Sophia Saifi – CNN) Pakistan said Sunday it carried out airstrikes on militant camps across the border in Afghanistan, in a serious test of an uneasy peace between the neighbors. The strikes targeted the Pakistani Taliban – also known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) – and its affiliates, as well as a group associated with the Islamic State. – Pakistan launches airstrikes against Afghan-based ‘militants’ it blames for cross-border attacks | CNN
