Mentre l’orologio della storia va avanti, irreversibilmente attraverso l’inarrestabile rivoluzione tecnologica, noi umani sembriamo cercare rifugio nella difesa da una paura che è diventata parte integrante della nostra condizione.
La politica che conosciamo soffia sulla paura, la incita, la cavalca. C’è chiaramente bisogno di nuove classi dirigenti che incarnino le profondità e le complessità del tempo che viviamo, non limitandosi a condividere o contrastare ciò che si vede nel presente imminente. Non è questione di parte ma di natura della politica.
La politica che conosciamo si è arresa alla linearità; oggi siamo all’apice della crisi degenerativa del pensiero lineare. Mai come in questi anni c’è stata una chiarezza di fondo sul grande paradosso che percorre la grande trasformazione in atto: più siamo evoluti e più si amplia la voragine della questione antropologica e sociale. Incombono spettri distruttivi, quello nucleare a esempio, che sono auto-distruttivi, conseguenza delle nostre scelte irresponsabili.
È peggio ancora, naturalmente, laddove le classi dirigenti siano elette in sistemi democratici. Se è vero che la disinformazione confonde e incide sull’evoluzione delle democrazie liberali, tali regimi hanno un problema di fondo: c’è uno svuotamento progressivo, una degenerazione che cammina, una sostanziale incapacità di rappresentare la realtà delle comunità umane che le abitano.
La triade democrazia-stato/nazione-confini serve agli ingegneri del caos non creativo per giustificare la progressiva delegittimazione dell’impianto multilaterale e della interrelazione sistemica planetaria. Quella triade è chiaramente insufficiente a risolvere l’equazione problemi-sfide globali/soluzioni globali e ci porta dentro tempi cupi: tutto viene ridotto alla competizione esasperata tra interessi particolari, sacrificati il bene comune e il destino planetario. L’orologio della storia avanza inesorabilmente e noi lo guardiamo: tecnologicamente avanzati ma altrettanto fragili e sempre meno umani.

As the clock of history ticks irreversibly forward through the relentless technological revolution, we humans seem to seek refuge in defending ourselves against a fear that has become an integral part of our condition.
The politics we know fan the flames of fear, incite it, ride it. There is a clear need for new leaders who embody the depths and complexities of the times we live in, not merely sharing or opposing what we see in the immediate present. This is not a question of partisanship but of the nature of politics itself.
The politics we know has surrendered to linearity; today we are at the height of the degenerative crisis of linear thinking. Never before has there been such clarity about the great paradox running through the great transformation underway: the more we evolve, the wider the chasm of the anthropological and social question becomes. Destructive spectres loom, such as the nuclear spectre, which are self-destructive, the consequence of our irresponsible choices.
It is even worse, of course, where the ruling classes are elected in democratic systems. If it is true that disinformation confuses and affects the evolution of liberal democracies, such regimes have a fundamental problem: there is a progressive emptying, a degeneration that is advancing, a substantial inability to represent the reality of the human communities that inhabit them.
The triad of democracy-state/nation-borders serves the engineers of non-creative chaos to justify the progressive delegitimisation of the multilateral system and global systemic interrelationships. That triad is clearly insufficient to solve the equation of global problems/global solutions and leads us into dark times: everything is reduced to exaggerated competition between particular interests, sacrificing the common good and the destiny of the planet. The clock of history is ticking inexorably, and we are watching it: technologically advanced but equally fragile and increasingly less human.
