Dena destroyer, Shahin minesweeper join Iran navy units

Home-made Dena destroyer and Shahin minesweeper joined Iranian navy units upon the online command of Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani in the presence of Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier-General Amir Hatami and Iranian navy commander.

Head of the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Marine Industries Organization Rear Admiral Amir Rastegari said that the Dena destroyer was the fifth project of the ship-based missile launchers four of which had earlier joined the Iranian navy.

He added that the fire control system used in Dena is one the newest systems made by Iran Electronics Industries which is capable of tracking 40 targets completely and engaging with over five targets simultaneously.

He noted that the telecommunication system of Dena is modern and has anti-jamming capability.

Rastegari emphasized that the cannon installed on the destroyer is one of the newest ones made by Defense Industries Organization.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said Shahin minesweeper has been manufactured by the Iranian navy forces and Iranian experts in Defense Ministry’s Marine Industries Organization.

Rastegari noted that Shahin is equipped with high-tech navigation system is able to neutralize different kinds of mines in the sea.
