How will the Taliban handle its dispute with Tajikistan? (Al Jazeera)

Tension is rising between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

Last week, the Taliban warned the Tajik government against meddling in Afghanistan’s internal affairs.

It comes after Tajik President Emomali Rahmon refused to recognise the new Taliban government and accused the armed group of human rights abuses against a Tajik minority in the Panjshir Valley.

Panjshir fell for the first time to the Taliban last month after fierce battles.

So, is a possible war looming along the Afghan-Tajik border? And what is the fallout for Central Asia?

Presenter: Sami Zeidan
