A senior Chinese industry official said the market penetration rate of new-energy vehicles (NEVs) in China likely reached more than 10 percent in the first eight months of the year, hefty growth for the world’s biggest vehicle market, as it forges ahead with its net-zero goals and as more automakers lay out electrification strategies.
