Singapore says existing laws, security requirements, and public service rules already apply to the risks posed by AI smart glasses used by public officers. In a written parliamentary reply on 7 October, Coordinating Minister for Public Services Chan Chun Sing said existing safeguards apply to AI-enabled smart glasses, including rules governing photography and audio and video recording.
Public officers are also bound by the Public Service Code of Conduct, the Official Secrets Act 1935, and government security requirements concerning the confidentiality of official information.
