(East Asia Forum) The Beijing summit between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump offered a modest reprieve in a relationship strained by trade tensions and geopolitical crises, with renewed dialogue emerging as one of the most important outcomes. While expectations of a grand bargain remain overstated, the deeper challenge for Asia is managing the risks that come from great-power bargaining and strategic competition.
