EU lists Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as terrorist group, says top diplomat

(Nicholas Vinocur and Sebastian Starcevic – Politico) The European Union has designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization following a brutal crackdown against protesters that has claimed thousands of lives in recent weeks, top diplomat Kaja Kallas said Thursday. “Any regime that kills thousands of its own people is working toward its own demise,” Kallas wrote on X after a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels. On her way into the meeting, Kallas told reporters: “This will put them on the same footing with al Qaeda, Hamas, Daesh. If you act as a terrorist, you should also be treated as a terrorist.”
