Saudi Arabia and 18 other Arab and Muslim countries strongly condemned Colombia’s opening of an embassy in Jerusalem, warning that the move violates relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and undermines international efforts to achieve a lasting peace based on a two-state solution.
In a joint statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Friday, the foreign ministers expressed their categorical rejection of Colombia’s decision, stressing that any attempt to alter the legal or historical status of occupied Jerusalem was invalid under international law.
