Netherlands adopts nationwide quantum strategy through 2035

The Netherlands has adopted a nationwide quantum strategy aimed at making the country a technological leader by 2035 while strengthening strategic autonomy and resilience against quantum-related security threats. The strategy brings together measures covering research, commercialisation, public procurement, international cooperation and the protection of public systems.

The government plans to build on €614.9 million previously allocated through the National Growth Fund to Quantum Delta NL, while exploring additional support through research facilities, private and European financing and public procurement. The strategy identifies quantum computing, communication and sensing as priority areas and seeks to turn the country’s established research and business base into commercial applications and stronger domestic capabilities.
