Ukrainian Drone Attacks Exacerbating Tensions Between Moscow and Rest of Russia

(Paul Globe – The Jamestown Foundation) Ukrainian drone attacks are not only affecting the situation in ever more regions and republics of the Russian Federation but also exacerbating tensions between people there and Muscovites, with each blaming the other for failing to defend against such attacks. That is the exact opposite of what many had expected and means that fissiparous trends throughout Russia are growing. This is especially important because the outsiders Moscow has inserted into the federal subjects are proving to be its ever less reliable agents. None of this means, despite the suggestions of some, that Ukrainian drone attacks will allow Ukraine to win by this tactic alone. It does mean the Kremlin now faces far larger problems than the economic destruction and Putin’s declining poll numbers. – Ukrainian Drone Attacks Exacerbating Tensions Between Moscow and Rest of Russia – Jamestown
