Grossi (IAEA) highlights possible radioactive emissions from raids on Iranian sites – breaking

The head of the Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, has raised the alarm about a ‘possible radiological leak with serious consequences’ following the US-Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear sites. ‘So far,’ he added, ‘no increase in radiation levels above normal background levels has been detected in countries bordering Iran’. The Iranian ambassador to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that the US and Israeli attacks targeted nuclear facilities and that the Natanz nuclear site in the central province of Isfahan had been hit in recent days.
