(Paraguay/Russian Vaccine) Paraguay registers Russian coronavirus vaccine – RDIF (TASS)

The Healthcare Ministry of Paraguay has registered the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) says on Friday.

“RDIF announces registration of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V by the Healthcare Ministry of the Republic of Paraguay. The registration was made as part of the accelerated procedure without holding further clinical trials on the territory of the state,” the Fund says. The Sputnik V was earlier registered under the similar procedure in Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine and Venezuela, RDIF says.

Supplies will be provided owing to international partners of RDIF in China, India, the Republic of Korea, and other countries.

Registration of the Sputnik V vaccine in Paraguay demonstrates growing interest of Latin American states in the safe and efficient Russian coronavirus vaccine, RDIF chief executive Kirill Dmitriev says in a comment.

“We expect the Sputnik V will get an approval in certain other countries of the region and are ready to expand partnerships for joint combating of the pandemic,” Dmitriev adds.
